What is a SPOT anyway?
A SPOT is a little unit that communicates with satellites to
record your position and send it to others. Better still, depending on the
model you buy, it allows you to use that information in several other ways.

has five main functions:
SOS/911: Hit
this button and the unit sends an instant message with your coordinates to the
nearest appropriate rescue service notifying them that you need assistance
HELP: Notifies
your personal contacts that you need assistance
CHECK IN/OK: Let’s
you check in with your friends who receive a pre-programmed message and your
coordinates
CUSTOM MESSAGE: Let’s
you send a custom message to your friends, along with your location. NB: This
function is NOT available on the cheaper SPOT 1 PERSONAL TRACKER
SPOT ADVENTURES Share
your adventures with SPOT’S new social media portal and enjoy all its
