Heating gloves
We are a paragliding club in the South of France (Near Gourdon). Even though we have better weather than most, we still have a few "unbearable" days in the winter, especially when we go mountain flying or simply take advantage of some generous winter thermals !
We have ordered twenty something pairs not really knowing what to expect... We heard some very bad stories about cheap models, and none of us was willing to invest 200 euros for a pair of gloves.
So we gave the XC super deluxe model a try, seduced by its apparent value and comments from the sellers.
We have not been disappointed !
The gloves are well made, very warm even without the heat on, and the heating system provides quite a pleasant heat feeling inside the glove. You cannot feel the heat very much while flying, because the hands are raised above the heart, but as soon as you lower the hands, the heat is there and the hands warm up nicely. They are also very good to wear before the flight, during the preparation. We had a few -12 Celsius days, and we hardly noticed it was this cold ! Some of us use the gloves also for skiing and biking, and we are all very happy with our purchase. Only one negative comment : too bad the heating doesn't pass around the thumb...
Our advice ? Definitely worth having for the money. Probably not up to a 200 euro pair in heat efficiency, but we may never know because we will never spend that kind of money anyway !

No heat in thumbs
While generally pretty happy with the quality & heat that they provided, they definitely DO NOT provide heat in the thumbs, a fatal flaw for flying in Alaska.
Sent them back to Mfg after verifying that they were not broken, but were designed that way. Don't understand why they heat only 4 of 5 fingers.

Super Deluxe Heated Gloves
We have just received these gloves with the Lithium battery packs and so far we have used them just for skiing. The gloves are brilliant and the heaters are only necessary when it's really cold as the general insulation is very effective. The heater unit works the moment it's switched on heating all fingers, thumb and hand. We can't wait to fly with these gloves, on the next available flying day. I'll update this review then.
